BISTRO 16

A meal at Bistro 16 starts with small plates and shares such as garlic pizza bread, prawn cocktail or southern fried chicken. Main plates include traditional pizza, pasta, burgers, stir-fry or classic chicken parmigiana all prepared by THBC in-house butchery.

Sweet endings include tiramisu, chocolate mousse or crème caramel baked by their in-house award-winning bakery chefs.

The price range is very attractive with express meals from $9 for members at lunch and $15.50 at dinner and desserts are available from $4.50.

BLACK SHEEP ESPRESSO BAA

The first thing that’ll strike you about Black Sheep Espresso is the size, it’s somewhat of a hole in the wall. Yet don’t let the size deter you, as they deliver a mean breakfast despite the limited real estate. Their zucchini corn fritters are worth seeking out as are their baked goods, with muesli flapjacks, sweet and savoury muffins, and coconut raspberry slices regularly pulled from their oven.

BOARDRIDERS CAFÉ 28

There aren’t many places one can have a coffee, take care of the (hair) situation on their noggin’ and peruse the newest surf hardware all at the same time—but we’ve found this dream land! This concept cafe adjoins the Boardriders Quicksilver store and features a small in-house barbershop while morphing into a bar on a Friday and Saturday night.

The coffee here is very much on point, and when you couple that with comfortable outdoor couch seating and prime people-watching capabilities—you’re definitely onto a winner. Cafe 28’s breakfast menu isn’t huge but what you get is value for money; they offer a kid’s breakfast with milkshake for just $10 or a bacon and egg roll with coffee for $8.
